Looks like I finally have a chance to complete my thought about what I was calling in an earlier post hyper-egotism, that is, egotism that extends to other people. Recall that in the previous post I was discussing hyper-egotism in the context of what I termed religious identity disorder but I suggested that the same general phenomenon probably underlies a great number of other social maladies including nationalism, so let me just finish up the discussion with a few words on nationalism and as a special treat I’ll throw in a few words on ancestor worship.
